DEP has undertaken and continues to pursue restoration projects to address conditions characterized as part of its research programs. These projects mitigate effects of point and non-point pollution or physical conditions affecting natural resources, particularly salmon utilizing Reservation waters. Restoration activities are designed to promote the health and welfare of the Swinomish Community by improving habitat and conditions for culturally significant species to ensure access to these key resources for generations to come. Some recent projects include:
- Fornsby/Smokehouse Floodplain Restoration Project;
- Lone Tree Creek & Pocket Estuary restoration project; and,
- Swadabs Park/ Canoe Landing restoration.
